The Introduction

ICONIC Pet Food began as a new and relatively unknown brand with a clear ambition: to become a premium, memorable and trusted name across the pet food market.

The client wanted to create a brand that could appeal to both cat and dog owners, while clearly communicating product quality, flavour variety and premium ingredients. From the very beginning, I worked across the full brand development process, including the logo, brand identity, packaging design, photography direction and social media assets.

What started as a simple one-line concept grew into a recognisable pet food brand with a strong visual presence across Thailand and the Asia-Pacific region.

The Challenge

The main challenge was to build a complete brand identity from the ground up, with very limited direction at the beginning. The client did not have an existing visual guideline or a clear idea of how the logo should look. The only starting point was the need for a brand that felt premium, simple, iconic and suitable for both cats and dogs.

The brand also needed to work across a wide product range, with different flavours represented through colour. This meant the identity had to be flexible enough for packaging, digital marketing, photography and social media, while still remaining consistent and recognisable.

Another key challenge was packaging impact. The product needed to stand out on shelves among other pet food brands, while clearly showing the flavour, benefits, ingredients and product information in a way that was easy for customers to understand.

The Process

The project began with logo concept development. I explored a range of visual ideas based on simple, memorable shapes and animal-inspired forms. The goal was to create a logo that felt distinctive, premium and easy to recognise, while still being approachable for pet owners.

From there, I developed the wider visual identity, including colour direction, typography, layout style and brand applications. Each flavour was assigned a colour treatment to help customers identify product variations quickly, while keeping the overall brand system consistent.

For the packaging design, I focused on shelf presence and customer decision-making. Each side of the packaging was carefully considered to ensure the product benefits, flavour, feeding information and key details were clear and visually engaging. The design needed to feel premium but still practical, with a strong front-facing layout that could compete visually in a retail environment.

The brand was then extended into social media templates, digital banners and photography direction, ensuring all visual assets followed the same brand tone. Over time, the packaging evolved with new product ranges and improvements, while still maintaining the original look and feel of the ICONIC identity.

The Result

ICONIC Pet Food developed from a simple brand concept into a strong and recognisable pet food brand across Thailand and Southeast Asia.

The final identity created a consistent and memorable brand presence across logo, packaging, photography and social media. Customers became familiar with the visual style, flavour colour system and premium presentation, helping the product stand out both online and in retail environments.

The client was very happy with the result, particularly seeing how the brand grew from an early concept into a well-known and trusted product range. The project became a strong example of how thoughtful branding, packaging and visual consistency can help build long-term customer recognition and commercial value.
